From the end of Snowshoe Lane off Centennial drive, I followed an old roadbed N then into a narrow canyon. It is part of the proposed Genoa Trail. When the roadbed petered out, I continued up, donning snowshowes upon encountering Manzanita air pockets covered with snow.
The route is rather straightforward, basically heading up the canyon until Genoa can be spotted then aiming for the top. See route:
I saw a lot of snowmobile activity to the West where the slopes are gentle. Nice views of Lake Tahoe.
